Lady Gaga: Groundbreaking Or A Recycling Bin

Newsflash: Lady Gaga's new album cover for "Born This Way" is a cheap knockoff of the classic hard metal albums of 70's and 80's.

Born This Way Album Cover

I'm loving the new single, "Judas" (I'm really not a fan of "Born This Way"), but this album cover is an another let down that began with the "Telephone" video.
As each new single, album cover, or video rolls out, the similarites of other people's work is too real to be ignore. Of course, every artist is inspired by someone before them, but to actually use their signature concepts is appalling. I'm beginning to wonder if Lady Gaga really was all that groundbreaking or just a recycling bin.

New Music: To Love Or Not To Love #1

Check out these new songs and their videos. Which one is your favorite?

Asthma Attack-CockNBullKid
First Listen: B+
Review: CockNBullKid is a strange named for an artist like this. Yet, the alternative name fits well with the mixture of genres she is bringing to the table.

Touching A Stranger-Wildboyz
First Listen: C-
Review: Typical dance music filler. There is nothing special to this song.

Beautiful People-Chris Brown Feat. Benny Benassi
First Listen: A+

Review: Wow, I'm in shock that Chris Brown has released one of the best dance songs to come out in months. Also, kudos to Benny Benassi for adding a layer of sadness to this song. BTW, isn't that the dancer from Madonna's Celebration video and the Sticky and Sweet Tour.

Highlights For March 28, 2011

  • "My House" spends a 2nd week at #1, however J-Lo, Gaga, Ke$ha, Dev and Beth Ditto are looking to take over that spot.
  • The Power Pick of the week is "Operator" by DJ Dan Feat. Blake Lewis.
  • Foster The People continues to slowly move up the chart with "Pumped Up Kicks" and earns the Heatseeker title this week.
  • As much as I dislike Chris Brown, he delievers a hot new dance track with Benny Benassi call "Beautiful People." It's worth the listen. Isn't amazing that Snoop Dogg (with David Guetta), Busta Rhymes (with Tiesto) and now Chris Brown (with Benny Benassi) are releasing dance tracks.

My 1st Batch Of Songs I Ever Brought On ITUNES (In April 2004)

Seriously,  how did "I Don't Wanna Know" by Mario Winans become the 1st song I ever downloaded on ITUNES?

Remember such great classics songs such as "Overdrive" by Katy Rose or Season 2
American Idol contestant Josh Gracin's hit "I Want To Live". Really? You don't...

BTW, In my defense, I had a thing for Josh Gracin.

Missing ITUNES Songs

Due to having my appendix removed this past Sunday, I have a lot of spare time. One of my activities includes, cleaning up my ITUNES collection. Sometimes certain CDs do not upload with great sound quality. Such as, the "Catching up with Depeche Mode" album  So I decided just to download the album again from ITUNES. The CD was my partner's copy, so I didn't feel like I was buying the album again.

In my quest I have noticed certain songs that are missing from ITUNES that made me say, WTF. For this reason, I am going to keep an ongoing list to see how many songs that I can not find on ITUNES that were major hits in the United States.  F.Y.I this only includes the USA ITUNES store.

Missing ITUNES songs
_______________________________________________________________________________
  • The whole SURVIVOR album from Destiny's Child. This includes, every single from that album. The only exception is the Survivor song that can be found on the Now that’s what I Call Music #1's album. However, you need to buy that whole album to get that one song. Singles such as Independent Woman Part 1, Bootylicious, Emotion, and Nasty Girl are not on ITUNES!
Survivor Album
_______________________________________________________________________________
  • Which brings us to their greatest hits album, #1's, also not on ITUNES. I thought maybe I could find the above mentioned singles from Survivor on this album. Nope. Which means the Stand Up For Love single is also not on ITUNES. Check on It is found on a "Check on It" EP. (This wasn’t a Destiny’s Child song, but a Beyonce song and someone decided to include it on a Destiny’s Child greatest hits album)
#1's Album
_______________________________________________________________________________
  •  Dionne Farris's 1995 hit "I Know" isn't on ITUNES as well. Not even on a compilation cd of some kind.
Wild See-Wild Flower Album
_______________________________________________________________________________
  • Michael McDonald’s 1986's top ten hit "Sweet Freedom" is nowhere to be found on ITUNES as well.
Sweet Freedom Single

_______________________________________________________________________________

Now both Destiny's Child albums are found on the Amazon MP3 store.

However, "I Know" and "Sweet Freedom" is not found on the Amazon MP3 store.

Weird isn't?

Does anyone have any information on why these songs are missing?
