Newsflash: Lady Gaga's new album cover for "Born This Way" is a cheap knockoff of the classic hard metal albums of 70's and 80's.

I'm loving the new single, "Judas" (I'm really not a fan of "Born This Way"), but this album cover is an another let down that began with the "Telephone" video.
As each new single, album cover, or video rolls out, the similarites of other people's work is too real to be ignore. Of course, every artist is inspired by someone before them, but to actually use their signature concepts is appalling. I'm beginning to wonder if Lady Gaga really was all that groundbreaking or just a recycling bin.

Missing ITUNES Songs

Due to having my appendix removed this past Sunday, I have a lot of spare time. One of my activities includes, cleaning up my ITUNES collection. Sometimes certain CDs do not upload with great sound quality. Such as, the "Catching up with Depeche Mode" album So I decided just to download the album again from ITUNES. The CD was my partner's copy, so I didn't feel like I was buying the album again.

In my quest I have noticed certain songs that are missing from ITUNES that made me say, WTF. For this reason, I am going to keep an ongoing list to see how many songs that I can not find on ITUNES that were major hits in the United States. F.Y.I this only includes the USA ITUNES store.

Missing ITUNES songs

The whole SURVIVOR album from Destiny's Child. This includes, every single from that album. The only exception is the Survivor song that can be found on the Now that’s what I Call Music #1's album. However, you need to buy that whole album to get that one song. Singles such as Independent Woman Part 1, Bootylicious, Emotion, and Nasty Girl are not on ITUNES!

Which brings us to their greatest hits album, #1's, also not on ITUNES. I thought maybe I could find the above mentioned singles from Survivor on this album. Nope. Which means the Stand Up For Love single is also not on ITUNES. Check on It is found on a "Check on It" EP. (This wasn’t a Destiny’s Child song, but a Beyonce song and someone decided to include it on a Destiny’s Child greatest hits album)

Speaking of 90's Retro, "Rolling In The Deep" has an early 90's retro remix. The remix is the Downtown London Remix. Find it and Love It.
Beth Ditto's "I Wrote The Book" is another 90's retro song. Not to mention the video is homage to "Justify My Love"

"Hold It Against Me" is the longest #1 in 2011 and the longest on the top since, "Only Girl (In The World)" by Rihanna spent 3 weeks at #1 in the fall of 2010.
Like "Hold It Against Me", "Fighting Fire" by Breakage has been influenced by Dubstep. Dubstep is the sound of 2011.
"Blind Faith" samples "Good Vibrations" and has the Dubstep sound that I'm Lovin.
Patrick Wolf's "The City" is such a happy pop song that sounds like a Tears For Fears song. Check it out, I think it could have huge crossover success if given the chance in the United States.

Enrique Iglesias falls to #8, however Tonight (I'm F**kin You) was his biggest hit since his Bailamos hit #1 in 1999.

Britney earns the title for Greatest Gainer in Airplay with "Hold It Against Me."

Alexis Jordan earns the HOT SHOT DEBUT of the week. Her 1st single, Happiness for a #1 Hit Last Summer.

Highlights For January 31, 2011

The Scissor Sisters scores their 3^rd #1 Hit on my chart with, Invisible Light. The other two #1’s were Filthy/Gorgeous in 2005 and Fire with Fire in 2010.

Kelis has two singles in my top ten, Scream & Brave. However it’s Scream that makes the bigger jump.

A surprise hit for me is, There’s A Skip On The Record by Kendall. It’s fun and dancing. Check it out.

S&M jumps into the top 40 after its second week on the chart.

Tensnake spends a second week at #1.

Britney jumps up to #26 from #41 in her second week on the chart. Can’t wait to see the video.

Random boy band, One Call climbs into the top ten with “Blacklight.” At first listen, you might say to yourself WTF? However, you should give the song a few spins and it might grow on you.

Rihanna enters the chart at #66 with her song and racy video for “S&M.” The video itself is homage to Madonna that has been popular to do for the last year.

Highlights for January 17, 2011

“Coma Cat” sneaks up to #1 while “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” holds steady at #3.

“Invisible Light” jumps up to #4 in its sixth week on the chart. This is the 3^rd single from the latest album from the Scissor Sisters.

As predicted last week, “Hold It against me” by Britney Spears, debuts at a very high position on the chart, at #41.

The Power Pick of the week goes to Hercules & Love Affair with their future hit “My House”. I am hoping this song somehow crosses over in the U.S.

I know I dream big.

Highlights for January 10, 2011

Diagram of the Heart spends a third week at #1, but “Coma Cat” & “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” are looking to take over the top spot. Can Dead Famous hold them off?

“You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” earned a Golden Globe for “Best Original Song”. Too bad Cher wasn’t at the Golden Globes. Hopefully this song will earn an Oscar nomination.

The Hot Shot Debut, “My House” brings back Hercules & Love Affair to my chart. I love this song. Anything that sounds late 80’s or early 90’s seems so fresh right now. On the opposite of love is anything that sounds like “Poker Face”. The Redone sound is getting old and starting to sound dated. Hopefully, Lady Gaga’s new album will push her into a new sound.

Next week, Britney Spears’s new single, “Hold It Against Me” should make a big splash on my chart. I’m amazed that there is little dub step in her new song. Which I believe will be the new sound of Hip-Hop in America. English Hip-Hop is miles away from American Hip-Hop at the moment.

Highlights For January 3, 2011

It’s a very good week for Diagram of the Heart, for the second week in a row “Dead Famous” is #1. Diagram of the Heart also debuts a new single, “Did I?” at #66.

Tensnake’s “Coma Cat” is also the greatest gainer in airplay for a second week. The late 80’s/early 90’s house sound has made this a very unique and fun song for me.

Cher makes her 1^st appearance in my top ten since 2003 with “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me”. This is the only song from the soundtrack to make my top ten.

The Hot Shot Debut of the week comes from Sarah McLeod’s cover of “Dancing in the Dark”. Since I am not a fan of Bruce Springsteen this is an already a surprise hit for me. “Dancing in the Dark” enters at #62.

Alphaville makes their 1^st chart appearance in my chart with “I Die for You Today” at #100. I am huge fan of “Big in Japan” and “Forever Young” so I gave them a nod. I am not sure how this song is going to play out for me.

Highlights For December 27, 2010

Diagram of the Heart takes their first single on my chart, “Dead Famous” to the No. 1 spot. "Dead Famous” has the honor of being the first No. 1 of the 2011 chart year. I do have to admit this song has been out for almost a year in England. Thanks to an online friend I was introduced to this great song. 4 other songs jumps into the top ten, “Bromance” by Tim Berg moves from 11-5,“Coma Cat” by Tensnake moves 16 -7, Hurts has their 3^rd single in a row to hit the top ten with “Stay” and Ke$ha scores another top ten hit with “Cannibal.”
